RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It allows Internet users to send information through “feeds” that you can read either in an RSS reader or some e-mail programs. The RSS is also known as web feed formats in XML. It is commonly used for web syndication. Users or subscribers can receive the latest contents of the website they’re interested in. It is one way of controlling traffic in a website. It gives you control over which item or feed youd like to receive. RSS lets you save time because you no longer need to visit the sites of your choice individually. UserLand was the first to use RSS in 1997. Others like Netscape followed shortly after. RSS’ first version was created by Netscape’s Dan Libby in March 1999. Since then, RSS became a staple in online surfing.
