Web Services Review

New technology has led to development of more robust messaging allowing confidentiality, integrity and authentication. Innovations and developments from companies like IBM have led to better implementation using opaque encryption keys to address many security issues related to the said framework in conjunction with other Web Service Protocols. Coined or called WS-Security the technology provides a set of mechanisms to help developers of web services to secure SOAP messaging exchanges through enhances security and handling. It also provides a general-purpose association of security ring tokens with messages but without specific type of security token which is defined by the developer.
