RESTful is an attempt to emulate HTTP and the other protocols with the use of stateful resources rather than on messages or operations. Support for the said technology set is still quite weak such as in SDK�s or Software Development Kits which developers use to develop projects/programs for implementation on the web. Critics are truly after the technology set calling them too complex and biased towards large software vendors. The said technology is quite proprietary which goes against current trends of making these types of technologies more open sourced in hopes of bringing costs down. More complex projects that operate similar to the structure of RESTful are Cobra and Dcom along with XML-RPC are in the works but are still meeting opposition of many web gurus.
