Web Services Down in the Middle East and India

If you’re wondering why some web services based in India or the Middle East hasn’t responded to your queries in a long time, don’t fret too much. It’s not that there was a sudden political censorship nor terrorist activity went on there. They are unable to connect to the Internet for a long time since the undersea cables in the Mediterranean got damaged.
There was disruption to 70% of the nationwide network in Egypt, and India suffered up to 60% disruption.
UK firms such as British Airways have told the BBC that call centres have been affected by the outage.
Industry experts said it could take up to one week to repair the damaged cables and resume full service.
International telephone calls, which have also been affected, are being rerouted to work around the problem.
Not to worry though as repairs are underway to return Internet connection to the affected countries in that region. The estimated time of service returning is within the week.
