More people are realizing the benefits of using open office which is open-sourced and free for all to use. Microsoft has been forced to look into other avenues of business for additional revenue for as open applications begin to take chunks upon chunks of the market they used to dominate, the company may loose ground ion the software business as the year progresses. Their much publicized move on Yahoo which has apparently failed (but there are rumors of them continuing to go after the company, more discreetly this time) might be a sign of the company trying to get more of the market.
