Recycle Blog Posts for More Search Engine Mileage
Some of our blog posts get a lot of traffic, while others – no matter if we put in the exact same effort into researching and writing them – don’t even get any love at all. We can’t really blame anyone; it’s just how it works, right?
Well, those posts of yours don’t have to languish in the forgotten bin of old posts. With a little work, you can get those blog posts shown to a new audience, with the added bonus of getting a search engine optimisation boost.
Take your old blog posts and rewrite them. Now rewriting your blog posts is very important – we don’t want Google to penalize you with a duplicate content charge. The trick is to be able to rewrite your old posts in such a way that it gets past Google’s duplicate content detectors. Rewrite your posts so that it’ll stay in the neighborhood of 500 words. Don’t forget to insert more keywords in your reworked article – we want to attract new people via search engines after all. Also, don’t republish them on your blog – we want your blog to be able to reach a larger audience, so why not submit those posts instead to an article directory?
There are a lot of article directories out there, and EzineArticles.com is one of them, if you still don’t know of any article directories. Article directories have hundreds of thousands of visitors going there everyday, looking for good, credible sources on different topics, and it’s a good venue to expand your audience.
However, avoid article directories that are spammy, because they’re going to do you more harm than good. Getting linked from a known “bad neighborhood” might actually hurt your search engine optimisation efforts.
If you’re lucky, your reworked post will be able to drive more visitors, traffic, and hopefully more search engine spiders to your sites!
